Summer is here... [21 Jun 2005|01:07am] and I'm unemployed. However, I have an interview at American Eagle tomorrow, so hopefully all goes well. In other "news," Dana (my friend from K) came to see me this weekend and we went to the Planet X Fest with Ryan. It was a fun time. We got some Thai Food prior to the whole sha-bang and it was yummy! There were goats and chickens at the show, and it was at some hippie/veggie co-op downtown Detroit. The whole thing was pretty gynocentric so that was awesome (go womyn), plus I got to see Madeline (which was the shit). It made me cry a little bit, but those happy kinds of tears (I was a little drunk and looking at Ryan just made me so happy). Plus Dana and I saw some creepy pinata type things which was fun. How long should one keep using the same towel? [26 Apr 2005|06:53pm] [ mood | okay ] [ music | Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds-The Beatles ] Honestly..how long? I've been using the same one for the past 5 days. I desperately NEED to do some laundry tonight. On another note... I've got NEW HAIR! AND YEAH... This past weekend was alright. I went home to see Ryan so that was fun! We went to a wedding together on Saturday and ate lots of yummy organic food. However, last night was hell. I was in the Fine Arts Building (FAB LAB) until 2 AM editing some video for film class...BLAH! My fish are STARING at me while I'm typing this...sometimes I SWEAR they can tell what I'm thinking. They are probably thinking..."Hey, when are you going to clean our bowls you lazy piece of shit?!" and I'm just sitting here watching tiny pixels fall across the screen as I try to open imovie. I wonder what my fish do when I sleep at night...hmmmm. What an easy life that must be...waiting for pellets to drop into your habitat while you swim in circles (thiking that you will eventually get somewhere). Well I better get somewhere on this laundry....and some other things. P.S. People need to be more open about things..and live life by taking a few chances. Happy 4/20! [20 Apr 2005|12:41pm] [ mood | relaxed ] [ music | Flint (For the Unemployed and Underpaid)-Sufjan Stevens ] "Thinking": This morning, during meditation, we learned how to block out emotion, sensation, and thought by simply saying the word "thinking" in our minds. However, this proved to be NOT so simple. Everytime someone swallowed "THINKING"...everytime I thought about breakfast "THINKING" everytime I was cold..."THINKING." It was as if my mental state was in some sort of chaotic frenzy of control. Eventually the technique is supposed to make us mentally alert while phsyically relaxed...but for right now I'm not feelin' it... my head is more or less going to explode. Random Thoughts - My Crime and Society prof should have us do lines of cocaine while we talk about drug trafficking...it would be much more effective. - I ate twice at the caf today (but still manage to have uber amounts of meals left for the week) - Meditation is helping me deal with my anxiety - Today is a GOOD day - Sometimes our common room smells like ass - Math scares me...then again so does claymation (Christmas style) - I wonder how many plastic bottles are in my recycling bin?.... -.....it was 8 I just counted. Reactivate! [17 Apr 2005|10:36pm] [ mood | numb ] [ music | Betty Page- Madeline ] So here I am. Again. Mouse in hand...fingers on the keys...typing in what was once a detailed account of my everyday being (well sort of). To update... This weekend I went to go see David Sedaris at the State Theater downtown with a few friends. He read some of his short stories and there was a Q and A afterward. Which, by the way, was really awesome. I watched Bad Education and Vera Drake (although I fell asleep next to Brianne during the latter) Along with many other things that "topped off" a terrible terrible week to begin with, but lets not bother you with the gory details of things that didn't go as planned and focus on the positive. P.S. Dreaming about ex-boyfriends is strange...dreams in general are strange. P.P.S.
